The highlight of this year's edition was the 'Chinese Giant Dragon. The city in the eastern province of Shandong is the birthplace of kites and home to the Weifang International Kite Festival since 1984. The festival features everything kids love, especially on Children’s Day, where there are teddy bears’ first flights, balloon releases, a wind maze and other fun wind-related activities. The world's biggest kite, shaped like a dragon and stretching over 280 meters, soared on Sunday in the skies over the Chinese city of Weifang. Heads in the clouds, yet feet firmly on the ground, visitors to the festival can get involved in interactive activities such as kite-building workshops and sessions with kite-flying professionals, and enjoy the excellent live entertainment, arts and crafts, and market stalls. The festival will also celebrate the peoples and cultures of the world, with a strong focus on conservation.
